About Restaurant Arken

Restaurant Arken is located at Køge Marina and first opened its doors in 1980.

On February 1, 2009, Linné and Martin Sommer took over this gem, and since then it has undergone a complete transformation. Back in the 1980s, Køge Marina consisted only of Arken and sailboats. At that time, the restaurant was best known for its “biksemad” (traditional Danish hash) and giant wiener schnitzels. Over the years – and especially in the last decade – the area has been transformed into Denmark’s largest marina.

But it’s not only the marina that has changed – Arken has too.

Today, Arken is not only known in Denmark, but also beyond the country’s borders, especially for its impressive, extravagant, and completely unique fish and seafood buffet. The buffets were introduced in 2011 with the idea of creating something no one else had done before.

In addition to fish and seafood, Arken also offers a large à la carte menu with everything from oysters to juicy steaks. The wiener schnitzel, for which Arken was once famous, still holds its place on the menu.

Arken also hosts countless events throughout the year – from confirmations, weddings, and birthdays to receptions and funerals.
